Gundam Negative Zero Chapter 03

"Mama! Mama!"
"Quiet down Masaki! This is for you and Asuka. You need to be free of this madness!"
"But mother, won't father settle this! He always has!"
"Asuka, I'm sorry to say, but you're father's dead...Listen, I'm bringing you to a place greater than Nippon. You'll be safe there. This is for you're sake."
The plane steadily flew towards the west coast of America. But suddenly, a fighter jet appeared behind it and fired its machine guns. The right wind became damaged and smoke began to rise from the engines. The plane was bound to crash.
"Mama! We're going to crash aren't we?!"
"No, not until I get you kids to America!"
"America!? Isn't that the enemy?!"
"Yes, Asuka, but don't you realize what the government was doing to you kids?"
"Yes...I understand mother..."
Right then, the plane crashed into the border of Oregon and California.
"Ugh...huh!? Where's mama and onee-chan?
"Masaki! Over here! Mother's trapped!"
He ran as fast as he could towards the transport ship. There, he saw the slightly disfigured body he could recognize as his mother.
"Kids, please, run! The plane is gonna blow!"
"What about you mom!?"
"I'll have to be left behind...please, go on. Do this for the sake of living..."
The kids stared at their mother. They understood that they must live on. They both decided to run. Suddenly, there was an explosion and a loud bang entered their ears. They both fell over and a loud ringing entered their ears. Masaki could see his sister. But his eyes were closing. Little...by little....
--------------
Leo-Class Ship, Toronto Base, Canada, 5:44 pm EST
"Ah!"
Masaki rose from his bed. He was covered in sweat. He looked around. It was dark and the room was silent. He calmed down.
It was only a dream...
He looked towards his window and saw the full moon. He could remember every detail about the day his mother died. She ahd been piloting the plane that brought him and his sister to America.
He got up and grabbed his uniform. He slipped into his navy blue pants and jacket. He buttoned up and walked out of his room. He passed the large amount of empty rooms and wondered who used to use them. Most were locked due to the fact that the base was supposed to be under red alert. But one door seemed to be slightly opened. He looked at the small gap and saw a frame on top of a dresser. The people in the picture looked familiar. He walked in and turned on the lights. He realized that he had walked into Asuka's room.
He walked over to the dresser and picked up the frame. The picture was of him, Asuka, and their father. They were both very young and his father was formally dressed. Asuka was on top of his shoulders and Masaki was clinging to his leg. A small smile came to Masaki's face. A foot step was heard and the door creaked. Masaki dropped the frame and drew his gun. The frame hit the ground and cracked.
"Calm yourself Lieutenant Takanori."
A male soldier walked in and pulled a note out from his pocket. Masaki put his gun down and accepted the note.
"The commander would like to see you, sir!"
"Very well, let's head back."
The soldier walked out and right as he left Masaki's field of vision, he turned around and looked at the floor. He picked up the frame and looked at the picture. A crack ran along Asuka and her father's face. He placed the picture back onto the dresser and left.

When Masaki arrived into the bridge, another soldier was there, along with the commander. It was a female figure. Dark blue hair ended at the bottom of her neck and pink ribbon-type string was mixed along the ends of her hair.
"Lieutenant Takanori! I've been expecting you."
"So I've heard sir."
"Were you able to find the plans for the construction of the Gundam?"
"Yes sir, they were in the hanger."
Masaki unrolled the papers that was shoved into his chest pocket and laid it onto a table that was between the two.
"Very interesting..."
"By my guess commander, this suit has the power to overpower any mobile suit we've developed."
"I see. Well then, the timing is perfect. The Russians have just finished the blueprints for their new mobile suit. It was named blade or dagger, or something along those lines."
Right then, the alarms went off.
"Red alert! Three mobile suits approaching! One of them may be the new prototype weapon developed by The West!"
"Damn, their retaliating already?! Masaki, head off in your DaiSenshi! head off with Lieutenant Nishikawa as well!"
The female figure had been Shoko Nishikawa. Masaki had easily recognized her after he saw her face. She indeed was his future wife.
"So Masaki, will we die in battle together?"
Masaki didn't think it was funny. He changed into his pilot suit and head off to the hanger. He approached one of the DaiSenshis, but there was something different about his. His custom DaiSenshi was colored a bright orange and many of the parts were modified. Both of the shoulder armors were trimmed to decrease the weight, the arm plates were also trimmed, and the legs had added boosters for better manueverability. He did not carry any extra ammo for his machine gun, so he would only have his initial load to shoot down the three suits. His theory was that when his comrades fall, he would take what he needed from their fallen mobile suit. That way his DaiSenshi would be as light as possible, allowing him to evade better and easily confuse the enemy.
"Wait up Masaki!"
Masaki turned around and saw Shoko. She was running towards him at a rather fast pace and finally caught up with him.
"Come on, you didn't think I was serious when I said that back there?"
"It's not funny to joke around death..."
There was a silence, which was broken by more loud alarms. Red lights flashed and the intercom went on:
"Western Mobile Suits arriving in 3 minutes! Launch all mobile suits!"
They both ran towards their scissor lifts and brought themselves up to the cockpit of their DaiSenshi. When both entered their cockpit, they started up the operating system and configured the controls to their liking. Masaki's orange DaiSenshi was the first to launch. Shoko then stepped out the hanger in her dark-blue colored DaiSenshi. Her's was changed in color, but not many of the parts were changed. She prefered to use close combat weapons so she carried one of the failed prototype heat swords.
When both Masaki and Shoko both left the hanger, they started their thrusters and began to head towards the three mobile suits to intercept.
"Do you think that this is the Gundam?"
"Hopefully it is, that way we can take it" Masaki pulled off an evil grin.
--------------
Orion, Toronto Base, Canada, 5:34 pm EST
"It can't be..." Asuka was still in shock about Masaki.
"I'm sure this is just a mistake. He's probably still in the base. Maybe he's hiding from the Eastereners." Auron rushed his sentances to try to give Asuka some confidence. But he honestly didn't think that he was alive.
Those Eastern bastards...
"Colonel Takahashi, Lieutenant Micheals and Lieutenant Hayter(David's last name?), please come to the bridge."
"Come on, Asuka." Auron tried to grab Asuka from under the armpits and lift her up, but all of her weight shifted to her bottom half when she dropped from shock. He finally got her to stand up. Auron started to walk but turend around to see Asuka still staring at the piece of paper. He walked back and heard Asuka mumbling,
"What if he's dead, where could he be, they shot him didn't they, oh god..."
Auron could feel Asuka's pain, but she was starting to get on his nerves.
"Quit moping over your brother! If he is still alive, by the time we get the chance to do anything, he'll be dead! You're wasting our time to not only find your brother, but recover the Toronto base!"
Asuka felt mixed emotions. Anger. Realization. Thankfulness.
"Fine. We're heading to the bridge." Asuka's facial expression became serious and she walked towards the bridge without any chit chat with Auron. Auron felt good inside for getting Asuka to do her job but felt a bit of regret for being tough on her.

"As you know, The East have some how taken over our Toronto Base and we have no clue what they will be using it for. I'm sending you three to take out any mobile suit defenses and corner the enemy. Their numbers are unknown and they may or may not have reinforcements coming. As for you're mobile suits, all of your ammo has been replaced with live rounds and extra ammo is available. Previous damage to your suits have been repaired by our mechanic team, which I should mention, is now under new leadership."
"Who'se the new guy?" Auron was curious due to the fact that the old mechanic leader knew just how Auron wanted his things set up.
"Evan Bitolli, Italian."
"Ah."
Auron wanted to see this guy.
"Alright soldiers, you have permission of leave."
Asuka was the first to leave, followed by Auron and David, who were talking about the new mechanic.
"Man, it just won't be the same without Pops. I guess he finally retired."
"Yeah. Figured it'd be soon. Twenty years of military service."
David whistled. He was impressed.

Asuka, Auron, and David all entered their mobile suit and walked out of the Orion. They scanned the area to check for any enemy signals.
"Looks like it's all clear." David was relieved.
"Alright then, we're heading out!" Asuka's voice was filled with sterness.
She stepped on one of the pedals and pushed the handle forward. The thrusters on the Gundam ignited and it advanced with remarkable speed.
"Hey! Asuka, wait for us!" Auron nearly got blown back by the sudden take off. Both him and David also took off in their GUN Models. The thrusters on these three units weren't very energy friendly. Although all three were powered by the technology from the SWWG, the energy they used up was burning faster than they could be supplied with. While Asuka was heading towards the Toronto Base, her thrusters suddenly stopped and the Gundam fell forward.
"Dammit. This is is disgraceful." Asuka was very serious about rescuing her brother. He was the only family that she had left and they had spent so much time together. Tears began to form at the bottom of her eye. She looekd back at the screens and some parts began to become blurry.
You're tougher than this....
Auron and David had finally caught up with Asuka and now saw their Toronto base surrounded with black mobile suits and two others launching. David was unsure about the attack while David and Asuka were both gettign ready to start their operation.
"I'm heading in!" Asuka stomped on her pedal and the Gundam flew straight towards the horde of enemies.
"Ah...women." David thrusted forward while aiming his pistol.
"Hey! Guys!" Auron stood back. He pulled out his sniper rifle and set up his position. He put the rifle together and aimed towards the enemy units.
Alright...that orange one's mine....
click
Huh?
Auron clicked a few times but nothing happened. He put aside his aiming controls and saw that his gun had jammed.
"Ah dammit!"
--------------
"ARGGGGHH!!" Asuka was charging straight into a crowd of DaiSenshis. They all pulled out their machien guns and fired at her. Asuka pulled up her arm to her cockpit at blocked some of the bullets. Some began to pierce her upper arm, so she pulled off the cover to her arm blade and rammed it straight into the cockpit of one black mobile suits. All of the other units stopped. She pulled out the blade and a streak of blood could be seen. Right before the others could raise their weapon, four shots ahd been fired by David, all witin the chest area. They were all stunend for a monets notice and were evetually piled together by Asuka's blade. She struck two of them at the same time through the cockpits. When Asuka pulled it out, she saw that the slightly deformed body of one of the pilots. Her eyes became wide and she began to remember her mother.
"Oh my gosh...I've become a killer..."
Asuka had frozen for the second time in battle. Horrid memories of her mother's body haunted Asuka. Her hands froze on the levers and she stared into space.
"Asuka! Asuka! Do you read!?"
David saw Asuka's sudden stop and advanced towards her. There was still one DaiSenshi postioned there.
"This one's mine!"
David boosted into the air and used gravity to his advantage by kicking the DaiSenshi over. He brought his pistol to his front and shoot twice into the cockpit.
"Asuka!"
There was a sudden beeping and David turned. He could see the orange and blue DaiSenshis getting closer. He stepped aside the disabled DaiSenshi and postioned himself in front of the Gundam.
"Asuka, if you don't move you'll die!:
He fired a few shots towards them, knowing that he would miss. The two dodged the shots and were now within 100 feet of them. The Orange one had drawn his blade and was going for a stab to his cockpit. The blue one had also drawn it's blade and would be going around him to get to Gundam.
"Ah, fuc--!"
"Asuka had slightly snapped out of her trace, only to be greeted to the edge of a blade. Asuka's heart stopped. Death was meeting face to face with her. She closed her eyes.
"I'll die alone. Just like mother..."
When Asuka re-opened her eyes, the blade was nowhere in sight. Neither was the blue DaiSenshi. She looked over to the right and saw a small amount of smoke coming out of Auron's rifle.
"You can't die just yet Asuka! You need to find your brother! You need to live on!"
Asuka switched her attention to David. When she looked, she felt something crawl up here stomach. There was a blade edge that was sticking out of the GUN Model. A small amount of blood was on the tip of the blade. Asuka was in shock.
"WHAT THE HELL!?!?"
Asuka had snapped. She stomped on the pedal and advanced towards the orange unit. She reached out with her blade towards the unit, but he had dodged her stab attempt. Asuka was shocked from his movement. IT wasn't the fact that she missed. He seemed to be moving at such fast speeds. She noticed the modified armor and learned where his advantage laid. She was able to turn around and unsheathe her second arm blade. She attempted a quick swipe towards his legs. He jetted off the ground and right before firing his machine gun at her, a bullet pierced his DaiSenshi's head. The orange unit fell and hit the ground. IT eventually got up and dashed off. Auron had taken a shot. He turned over to the rest of the DaiSenshis and headshotted them as well. All of the unit were out.
Asuka turend to find the hanger and broke down the metal sliding door. Only three inactive units remained. She took her pistol and fire all of them in the head, where the main cameras lie. She also punctured the cockpits so that no one could take control of them.
"Listen up easterenrs. Surrender now or we'll wipe you all out."
Asuka looked down at the mechanics who were all running like rats. Auron came by and looked down as well. The base had been taken over once again.
--------------
Orion, Toronto Base, Canada, 6:34 pm EST
"Nice work everyone. Today's operation was successful and we have recaptured our home base. Sadly, Lieutenant Hayter was injured and will not be able to preform combat until his wounds have fully healed. He was severely injured in the shoulder and arm and his right leg was partially cut."
Everyone held a little silence for him and Asuka returned to her room.
"Lieutenant Micheals, do you happen to know what happened to the original blueprints for the gundam?"
"I'm not sure sir. The search team couldn't find them either."
"Ah, thanks lieutenant. You are dismissed."
Auron saluted and walked out.
"Damn those Easterners...."

Gundam Negative Zero Chapther 2

Nearby Forest, Toronto Base, Canada, 2:44 pm EST:
"This is Kinda cool."
"Don't get cocky Asuka. You may have training but this is the first real time."
Auron was concerned for Asuka's health. Although this was just training, if Asuka were to get injured in anyway, there would be not pilot for Gundam and the project would fail.
"I'll make sure not to get shot." Asuka stuck her tongue out at Auron over the video contact.
"I'm starting!" Auron was trying to re-grab Asuka's attention. Auron clicked the close button and her silly face disappeared.
Auron adjusted some of the controls to his personal benefit and then prepared to pick up his weapon. He grabbed his pistol from the skirt around his GUN. He pointed it at Asuka in the Gundam. His finger inched toward the trigger. Asuka's joking face suddenly broke and her attention focused towards his gun.
Click
There was a loud bang and smoke rose from Auron's pistol and Asuka was no where in sight. Auron turned left and saw nothing. Right before he could face rightwards, a metal fist hit his GUN in the face.
"Ha! And you're telling me to watch out!" Asuka was proud of herself.
Auron lay almost lifeless on the ground. But this was the disguise he was able to pull off against Asuka. He made a quick swipe with his leg to try to throw off Asuka's balance. Asuka fell over and hit the ground face down. Auron got up and looked down upon the Gundam.
"Pathetic. Never let your guard dow--"
There was a sudden uppercut and it threw Auron back. He hit the ground hard while bracing himself. He looked over and saw the Gundam bring out it's pistol. Asuka fired three shots at Auron. The bullets hit the arm that Auron was now defending with. The bullets exploded on contact and began to foam.
"we're not using real bullets? Hm, whatever. I wouldn't want to shoot down our grunt pilot, right?" Asuka teased Auron a bit before heading in to test out her arm blade.
The section right above the Gundam's wrist was a sharp triangular shaped piece of armor made for close combat. There was weapons that were already developed that brought the weaponry of the mobile suits back to the medieval style of fighting, but those were put aside due to little advantage they would have over the arm blades.
Asuka was right about to stab the GUN's arm when Auron kciked her back.
"Not bad Asuka. You're beating even me at this."
Right as Auron said that, the alarms went off.
"Incoming Leo-Class Eastern transport ship coming in from the northwest! I repeat, incoming Leo-class Eastern transport Ship coming in from the Northwest!"
"What the hell?!" Asuka and Auron seemed to be synced together when their reactions came.
Auron and Asuka both looked to the east, their backsides happened to be facing north. They saw a large transporter coming in and saw what looked like black mobile suits. They came crashing down within 100 feet of the Gundam and GUN Model. Auron jumped in front of ASuka and fired his pistol at one of the mobile suits. The bullets hit the head of the suit, but only to start foaming.
"Dammit! I forgot we have test bullets. Asuka, We're going to fight them off long enough so that the Orion can start up and prepare to leave!"
"You have no right to be bossing me around!" Asuka said this, even knowing that Auron was making the right decision.
"We have no choice! We need to protect these with all of our life!"
Asuka, gritted her teeth and leaped ahead of Auron and grabbed one of the black mobiles suits and grabbed her arm blade and stabbed it straight through the cockpit. Auron stood by in awe of how ruthless Asuka had been against the opposing forces. He followed up after her and grabbed one of the black mobile suits and threw it against the ground. He crushed the head with his foot while preparing to defend himself against a round of machine gun fire from the other two mobile suits. He remained in his position, unable to move until the spray of bullets stopped. Asuka took this chance to get in and stop them, since their attention was focused on the GUN.
"I think we have the Gundam unable to oppose us sir!" One of the enemy grunts was telling his captain.
"You sure that's the Gundam new guy?" the leader was also unsure about the models and could not tell the difference between the models.
Asuka pulled off the arm blade to reveal an even sharper edge. It was as if a sword was sticking out of the arm itself. She saw that the cover was covered in blood from the pilot she had just killed. Asuka froze and stopped her actions. The cover dropped to the ground.
"Ahhh!!!!!!" Asuka screamed at the top of her lungs. She started breathing heavily.
"Asuka! What's wrong! Asuka!" Auron's sudden concern made him even more nervous. She was now an open target. The stream of bullets finally stopped as well. The two machines were headed towards the Gundam.
"Heeeeeell No!"
Auron ran towards the two black mobile suits and punched one straight in the head. He fell over and Auron did a quick knee to the second suit that was following it's leader. He picked up Gundam and started a contact with Asuka.
"Asuka! Snap out of it!"
Asuka froze once again and began to breathe normally. She looked at Auron's face on the screen and began to chuckle.
"You...should see the the face you have right now. Ahaha...haha.."
Auron looked at Asuka weird and wondered what was so funny at a moment like this. But right then, Asuka passed out.
"Hey! Asuka!"
She didn't respond.
He turned around and looked to see an orange mobile suit of the same type they just fought entering the base. Auron didn't know what to do. Save Asuka or save the military. Auron's mind was torn.
What do I do...
My mind says save the base...
But for some reason, my heart is telling me to save Asuka...
What is this feeling?

Auron looked again to see the orange mobile suit leave already. But when it turned to scan the area, it saw Auron.
"Aw, shit!"
He ran with the Gundam in the hands of the GUN Model. He ran as fast as he could towards the newly starting Orion battle-ship. The back hatch opened up, signaling Auron to return. But another mechanical figure could me seen from the very brim of the hanger. Another GUN model was there with a sniper rifle aim in the same direction as Auron.
"Hop in Auron!"
That was David's voice!
Auron didn't hesitate and lept into the Orion. Right as he hit the hanger floor, the ship shook a bit and a gun shot was heard.
"Damn! My aim was off!"
David had taken a shot towards the orange mobile suit while they were escaping, but his shot was thrown off when the ship shook. The bullet only happened to skim the edge of the shoulder of the orange mobile suit. The hatch of the Orion closed and Auron and Asuka now rest safely in the new battle ship. Auron had almost forgotten about Asuka when making his way here. He brought the Gundam to the floor and lay it on its back.
Auron open his hatch and ordered a scissor lift to bring him down. One of the mechanics drove it over to the cockpit of the GUN Model and lowered Auron down to the ground. But before he got to the ground, he hopped onto the Gundam and ran over to the cockpit.
"Asuka!"
He looked for the secret panel that next to the lid of the cockpit and turned the handle. A sudden burst of air came out of the cockpit and the cockpit door opened. Asuka was laying in a lifeless position.
"Asuka. Wake up. Asuka."
Auron removed her helmet and lightly tapped her on the face. Her eyes eventually became a small sliver, then eventually opened to its fullest. Asuka was staring at Auron's face. Her face turned a bit red and started yelling at Auron.
"Auron! Out! Out!"
Auron backed out and leapt back onto the hanger grounds. His face was had a light red tint and he walked towards the exit to the ship hallways. David had caught up to him.
"Takin' a liking towards the new girl? Hmm?"
Auron's face truly turned red after that. Aurons head practically swung towards David.
"No! It's not like that! I was--I was just helping a fellow comrade!"
"Auron!! Hey! Get your ass over here!"
Asuka was calling Auron from her Gundam. Auron looked towards her and then once at David and then back at Asuka and he ran towards the Gundam. He arrived right next to the arms of the Gundam and stood there, watching Asuka coming down from the Gundam.
Asuka....
Asuka took her last leap down off the Gundam and landed right in front of Gundam.
"Listen Auron..." Asuka's head began to lower and look in a different direction.
"Asuka, I'm sorr-"
"No, you don't need to apologize. You were just doing what was right. If you hadn't taken me here...."Her head came up again, but she was still looking away from him.
"I might have died out there. Thanks, Auron." Her face was as red as his. Auron stood there, staring at Asuka. They both didn't know what to do next. The silence almost seemed necessary.
"Hurry up, lovers, we gotta head to the bridge for our new briefing." David had snuck up to Auron and Asuka and placed his arms over Auron's shoulder.
"Ugh, I told you David-"
"Let's go Auron!"
Asuka grabbed Auron and pushed him ahead of herself. He turned back and saw Asuka's smiling face.
-----------------
"Those machines, the DaiSenshis, were created by the Easterners using superior technology. Our tanks, planes, and bombers have almost no power against them. The Gundam Unit Network Model, or GUN Model as you guys like to call it, along with Gundam are the only weapons capable of actually harming the exterior of the DaiSenshis." Captain Garnet reviewed the very basic facts baout the DaiSenshis, the black eastern mobile suits.
"we have almost no idea what they did to the Tornoto base, but the base seemed have been captured almost imediatly. It's up to you guys to help in this operation to recapture our home base. Got that?"
"Yes, sir!"Asuka and Auron both saluted Captain Garnet and walked out of the bridge.
"Ah, kids these days. So young and throwing their lives into the military..."
----------------
"So what exactly are we doing?" Asuka looked over at Auron, who was looking around in the hallways.
"Well, assuming Garnet is making this a rescue and capture plan, we're probably going to be destroying enemy forces stationed around the base and then enter and destroy any forces within. Then we'll corner the leader of this group and all will end well. Oh, and by the way, where's your brother?"
"Masaki? Well, I don't know. I'm sure he made it on board. After all, he's just a civilian. He was staying here with me for a dew days...."
Right then, the two stopped in front of the wall next to the cafeteria. There, a long sheet of paper stating all of the on board passengers, was hanging in front of them. Asuka checked the list and as she reached the end of the list, her heart sank. Masaki Takahashi, was indeed, not on the list. Asuka's face went blank and she fell onto the floor, her legs almost making a V-shape.
"Is he dead?"

Chapter 1 unedited

Prologue:
The world's natural resources have been depleted and the world was plunged into chaos. The world split into two, the East and West. The competition to create an answer raged on until the East and West went into total hate. One generator was created to harness the power of water, wind, and the sun. This was created by a neutral company in Hawaii. The blueprints were given to both sides and they raced to construct one and find a way to mass produce them. The East finished first and was looked as the saviors of the world. The Calendar was restated with it being named EG, which stands for Evolution Generation. In an attempt to settle the anger between them and the West, they send the generator to the West. The last oil plant that was still in production was the one to receive this to attempt to switch out their power source to power the entire upper half of North America. But strangely, the generator was rigged with a bomb and the factory was destroyed. Who would have done such a thing? Now the West is even more infuriated at the East and a war is started. It is now EG 17 and the West is falling behind in technology against the East. But for the last two years, the West has been secretly making it's new weapon. What could it be?

Toronto Base, Toronto, Canada, October 20, EG 17, 1:37 pm EST:
“Hey! What the hell do you think you're doing! The rifle is on the right hand not the left!”
A bright orange haired man screamed at the mechanics from a distance, shaking his fist in anger.
“How the hell am I supposed to shoot with my left hand!?”
“Lieutenant Michaels, sir! We're sorry for the inconvenience, sir.”
The mechanic scrambled back to the team and yelled at the others for being nitwits.
“Hey Auron, don't be so tough on the mechanics! We're lucky enough to be able to pilot things like this today.”
Auron turned around to see a man around his height, who he easily recognized as David. His messy brown hair would look pretty bad if he hadn't worn a red headband all the time. It pushed it up and away from his face, which exposed his tough looking face with, one some occasions, a small five o' clock shadow.
“Hey, David. What do you think that this new machine will really settle things?”
“Well of course! This Gundam is pretty much invincible against the enemy DaiSenshis!”
Auron looked out into the hanger and thought to himself,

Gundam...

This new machine would settle all the disputes between the West and East. He was sure of it. For seven years, the war had been going on and he's seen what war can do to a person. He was sure that this new project would end this war sooner or later.
“Well, you better not get your ass kicked today by your girlfriend.”
“What?!” Auron's expression was priceless. “She's not my girlfriend!
Auron wanted to punch David. He was in his mid thirties and always cracked jokes around younger guys. Sometimes they were just unnecessary.
He laid his eyes upon the Gundam for one last time before leaving to go to his dorm. He had an hour before the training started. This was his first live pilot training that was coming up and he wanted to be well rested before doing so.
On his way to his room, he met his new Captain, Captain Mark Garnet. He was in charge of the new G-Project and this would be who he would be reporting to sooner or later.
"Captain Garnet, sir!"
"Oh quit it Michaels. We've known each other long enough to not need this formal setting."
Auron put his hand down and relaxed his shoulders.
"So, what do you think of the new project, old man?"
“Old man? I'm not even in my fifties yet! But anyway, all I can say that it's in you and Asukas' hands"

Asuka...

Auron felt as if the wind was blowing down his back and he could feel a chill running up his spine.
"Sorry sir, but I really must be going..."
Garnet looked at Auron with a weird expression, but turned away and walked down the corridor once again. Auron felt something evil coming up. He walked forward, with his head down. His thoughts wandered. What would today be like? What if I'm not good enough?

G-Project...Gundam...
Asuka...

Suddenly, Auron could feel something on top of his head. It felt human. No, more than human. Female.
Auron looked up to see that he had just run into Asuka. Auron's face turned red while staring at Asuka's surprised-disgusted expression. Her blond hair made her face's red glow even brighter and her blue eye's were the ice to her red, hot face.
"AURON!!!! What the hell do you think you're doing!?!?"
Auron backed up to see Asuka's full figure. Her body language was screaming at Auron with disgust.
"O,oh, Asuka...It's not what you're thinking! I was just heading back to my dorm, and I had a lot on my mind and--"
Auron's nervousness was like watching a child up on stage for the very first time. He backed up, but ran into someone else once again. He turned around with his hands up as if he were being arrested.
"Asuka, what's going on?"
Auron looked at his predator and saw brown wavy hair, with bright blue eyes. Just like Asuka's.
"Ugh, it's just Auron again, Masaki. He ran straight into me with out even knowing it. Into my chest." Asuka put a lot of emphasis into the word "chest".
Masaki? Oh right, Asuka's brother...
"No, no, it's not what you guys are thinking! Agh, you guys think I'm a total perv!" Auron ran into his dorm and dived straight onto his couch.

Asuka...
-----------------------
The G-Project had started a year ago, when the development of Gundam had started.
Pilot testing were held and many had come to use this powerful machine. Not only were they tested for piloting, but their psychological state was questioned as well. The West would not let some psychos pilot the newest machines. Many had gotten past the pilot testing, but had failed the psychological test. The test was to see how pilots were to react in battle and they were asked questions that were answered by personal opinion, but what they were looking for was a straight forward answer. So in the winter of EG 16, when all hopes of finding liable test pilots, a civilian had stepped into the hanger and just seemed to get past everything that was thrown at him. The officials were surprised by this and questioned this person. When “he” walked in, the officials were in denial. There was no way that a female would be a good enough pilot. She had passed all psychological tests and when that bound-to-fail question came, she answered with the most basic answer.
“Why do you want to join the Western forces and risk your life being a part of this G-Project?”
“Because I, Asuka Takahashi, have business to take care of.”
“Well then, Ms. Takahashi, you're in.”

Auron and David however, were accepted into the G-Project a different way. They had both been in the army since EG 10. Auron was around 16 and was drafted into the army. David was in his twenties when Auron was first brought in and he was like an idol to him. Auron thought that David was like a perfect solider. He was brave, courageous, and could do almost anything. Auron had fought along side his father and David for six years of the war up until EG 16. They both had shown exceptional talent in the army and were flown to Toronto and for an entire year, trained in piloting a mobile suit. Mobile suits are large humanoid robots that are built for war. They posses the power to change the tides of war while leaving destruction everywhere they go. Up until the winter of EG 16, they were uninformed of what they were being trained for. It wasn't until Asuka had been recruited that the project was discussed with the three of them. This is when the found out about the development of the mobile weapon Gundam. They learned that their lives would be risked for the sake of protecting this project and that if they die in battle, this project would fail. Auron was the only one who didn't seem to like the idea, but was convinced by David that he should stick around. Like a dog following his master, Auron joined in.
-----------------------
An hour had passed. It was time. Auron got up and scratch his tired head and headed for the bathroom. He had ruined his uniform. The creases stood out like writing on a white board. He pressed against his uniform and straightened out. He stared at the mirror.
Am I ready for this? He thought.
He headed out of his room and saw Asuka on the way out.
"Uh, Asuka. Sorry for earlier. I was just really out of it..."
"No problem Auron. But it should NEVER happen again."
Asuka didn't look at Auron the whole way to the locker rooms. The oddest part about this changing room is that it wasn't separated by rooms, it was separated by lockers. Auron went over to his locker, which was right behind Asuka's. The guys usually didn't mind this. It was the women who felt like the odd ones out. But either way, this room served it's sole purpose. Auron slipped out of his uniform and had brought up his pilot suit to his stomach when something had fallen onto his head. He pulled it down and saw that Asuka had thrown her uniform over her locker instead of on top of. He noticed her badge and it read "Colonel Asuka Takahashi". He was surprised at seeing this even after know that Asuka had become the leader of the G-Squad. She had been chosen because of her talent of piloting. She had done exceptionally on the simulations.
Auron's train of thought was disrupted by a pair of stockings and a mini skirt. Auron had caught them in his hand. His face turned tomato red.
"Auron, I know what you're thinking. Just thrown them back!"
Auron knew that she would kick his ass if he didn't. He threw them back without hesitation and pulled up his pilot suit. He grabbed his helmet and walked out. Asuka had caught up with him and grabbed him on the way down the hallway.
"Sorry if I'm treating you like a jerk today Auron. But it's just too important of a day for any procrastination."
Asuka's voice was calming and brought tranquility to Auron's mind. He was finally able to think of something to say,
"Today just feels kinda weird." Auron sighed out. What stupid line. He thought
The rest of the way to the hanger, they didn't say a word. They were afraid that if they said anything about today, the training would go horribly and that they would be kicked out of this once in a life time opportunity. When they arrived, they both got onto scissor elevators. They brought them up to their mobile suit's cockpit. Auron hopped in and started up the controls. Everything felt so familiar, yet so new at the same time. He had gone through simulations with the same controls, but never had they really controlled a machine. A machine with devastating power.
All the screen lit up and a small face popped up in the corner. It was Captain Garnet congratulating him on his successfulness. They would soon be part of the new land battleship Orion. The Orion would carry the Gundam and other units to participate in the G-Project. Their main goal is to gather enough data to be able to mass produce the Gundam and have simple soldiers pilot it with minimal training. Gundam would be the prototype to a revolution of mobile suits.
Auron was cleared to leave and he pushed his controls forward. The mobile suit came to life and walked with the most basic of human motion. He cleared the gate and knelt his mobile suit into the nearby trees. He set-up his sniper rifle, which would be loaded with test bullets. No one would be actually shot down but instead, the data would displayed in the unit that go shot and react as if they really had been. It was flawless. He turned around to check the gate. Asuka would be launching soon. Right as he looked, a shiny, white mobile suit walked out. It's vents breathed out hot air and the main camera of the suit glowed. The eyes glowed a great green color and the yellow antennas connected to the red stub reflected a gold color. It was such an exceptional sight.
“David, you lucky bastard.”

"Who you calling David!? Auron, I'm gonna get you for this. My unit can kick your GUN's ass!”
